Help people choose their next course

The prototype gives people a direct way to find courses and keeps useful choices as they browse. The next opportunity is to show when they would attend, what they may pay, what they would gain, and what the next button does.

Six stops through the course choice

  1. Start with a goalSearch works for a known course. Browsing by interest needs a clearer way in.
  2. Compare optionsCourse cards need the meeting facts that help someone rule an option in or out.
  3. Check the fit“Hybrid” needs to say when a campus visit is required.
  4. Choose a classThe workshop explains its class choices and updates the selected summary.
  5. Know the next stepThe campus handoff explains where a learner goes next. Other offerings use a cart.
  6. Find helpA no-result search offers Contact Us, but the checked action did not respond.
Sources and limits

This review follows the public path from course search to a cart or campus sign-up page.

The review checked a few screens at phone size, with a keyboard, and for faint text. SUNY learners have not tried the prototype. Sign-in, payment and confirmation were not reviewed; some course and registration rules still need answers from PruTech and SUNY.

The full findings include the screenshots, sources and open questions behind these notes.
