R07: Profiles should reflect changing circumstances
E-025. OECD, February 2026. The Many Faces of Adult Learners.
Method: Statistical grouping of 2022 EU Adult Education Survey data, ages 25–64, for Bulgaria, Finland, Ireland and Portugal. People who attended learning and those who did not are analyzed separately. The chosen number of groups differs by country. No combined respondent count is given in the reviewed methods.
Learning: Motivations and barriers can form more useful patterns than role or demographic labels alone. The paper warns that profiles can oversimplify, become outdated or reinforce stereotypes. [Sections 3.1–3.3, pp. 28–31; Annex A, pp. 33–36.]
Limits: European policy analysis, not a validated SUNY persona model or evidence that a particular website treatment works. Do not import its profile names, sizes or number of groups.
Confidence: Useful methodological guidance; limited relevance to SUNY's own audience.
