About this course

Maximize your career options with this Early Childhood Education microcredential! Developed in response to employer demand, this innovative microcredential creates a pathway for those in fields such as childcare and human services who want to pursue or maintain initial employment in early childhood settings. The skills, knowledge and experience gained lead to new employment opportunities in early childhood and continued pathways for academic success. You will start with an understanding of the foundations of education and explore key concepts in cognitive development. Skill development will include curriculum design, developmentally appropriate practice, ethical standards and conduct. Each class in the microcredential includes required field experience where you will have the opportunity to put to work all that you have learned with hands-on experience in classrooms. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study and to immediately apply for childcare, teaching aide or assistant positions.
